The Linux code was updated to be consistent with the latest MCNP5 version 1.4 code and the latest Windows C++ source code. The Linux code was compiled using Absoft Fortran 90 and the gcc compiler. The Linux executable code was created with Linux kernel 2.4.18-3.
The Linux controls are made to look as close as possible to those on Windows. This means that a user familiar with running the Visual Editor on Windows should be able to run the Visual Editor on Linux, without the need for additional familiarization with the Linux version.
The figure above shows a some plots generated by the Linux version of the Visual Editor. The plotting capabilities work the same on Linux as they do on Windows. The Linux version does not have a help package, CAD conversion, or the dynamic 3D display capability.
